Rehearsal Dinner

Hello every one, how were your weekends? Ours was pretty low key which was nice. This week, I'm going to be sharing some of our wedding with you all and then next week Ill return to my regular posting schedule. Hope that's okay!

Since the rehearsal was the start of the wedding weekend, I figured I'd start there. Our rehearsal was about two blocks from our hotel and at an Irish eatery. My in-laws did such a wonderful job planning the dinner and the food was delicious (not to mention how cute all the small details were). It was so nice to have this time to spend with the bridal party and close family members before all of the wedding day chaos.

::Miami Merger cake. We met at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. 14% of Miami alumni are married to other Miami alum. This is very large compared to other schools and even warrants a Valentine's day card from the university every year::

::My fabulous mother in law made the most adorable slide show. Naked in bathtubs, dressing up in outlandish outfits- it was all documented during the 10 minutes and it brought both laughs and tears to everyone in the room::

::I don't usually love the snow, but for this weekend and this event, a little bit made the event a tad more perfect and romantic::

::Our Miami Group. Husband's brother and wife (far right) are also Miami Mergers and I would guess at least four others in this group will be too::

As for wedding gifts, we got our parents framed engagement photos, gift cards to their favorite eateries and my mother and husband's mother got a embroidered handkerchief from me. Mr bridesmaids got a handmade hanger, TOMS for the reception, personalized stationary and an eggplant Pashmina. The groomsmen were given engraved Zippos and cigar cutters and of course, cigars. 

That's our rehearsal in a nutshell. I searched forever for the perfect dress to wear and actually bought three different ones. This Tahari number was perfect once I put it on. Just the amount of class and sophistication I was looking for. It was the perfect evening and the best way to start such a memorable weekend.
