I wore this yesterday to a matinee movie with the husband. We went to see This is 40 and while I enjoyed it, I also found it mildly depressing, did anyone else see it? Like it? I told fiance it probably wasn't the best movie to see as newlyweds, haha.
Did anyone do anything fun this weekend?

ReplyDeleteI actually loved the movie. LOVED IT. And honestly I think it's a realistic look at how couples change, evolve, drift a part and come back together. My husband and I have only been married for 1 year + some months, but we've been together almost 9 years. I think that This is 40 while a bit brutal at times, really is a great thing for newly weds to encounter. It's not all going to be fluffy or perfect, there will be new things to encounter. What I loved the most is that MOST of the issues and funny moments, and odd moments are ones that the director and his wife (who plays the wife in the movie, and those are their children in the movie) those are fights / arguments the couple has actually had over the years.
Although I will say at times the movie made me NOT like Paul Rudd and I thought that was impossible!

ReplyDeleteWhile I have not seen the movie yet, I tuned 40 this weekend. My husband and I have known one another 11 years and have been married 7 1/2. Having the years and three children under our belt I can speak from experience, marriage goes through cycles. Weathering the storms (issues, stresses, disagreements) help you appreciate the sun filled bliss days (celebrations, achievements, compromise). In the end, if you see yourselves as a team, good days lie ahead of you!
